"We are called, like Saint Chiriachi, to love the One who loved us to the end," Archbishop Athanasius of Great Britain and Northern Ireland emphasized on Tuesday at the consecration of the Episcopal Cathedral in Husi.

His Eminence officiated the Holy Liturgy together with Bishops Ignatius of Hus and Nectarie of Ireland and Iceland and Vicar Bishop Samuel Bistrițeanul of the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj.

Starting from the example of the Holy Great Martyr Chiriachi, the protector of the place of worship in Husi, the Most Reverend Father Athanasius emphasized the actuality of the profession of faith: "Let us become light in a world engulfed in darkness".

"The Gospel shows us the mystery of God's confession in a world sealed by sin and decay, sealed by infirmities, searching for its meaning and in which it seems that each generation repeats the mistakes of those that came before".

His Eminence explained that "everyone is blessed with a cross", and life's trials can become a way to get closer to God when they are carried with faith: "We learn, from the Holy Great Martyr Chiriachi, to embrace the mystery of suffering, not to run away from what the Lord...
