Church holidays in the north of Moldova September 20–22: where concerts and folk festivals will take place

On September 20, 21 and 22, church holidays, days of villages and cities will be celebrated in many localities of Moldova. The program includes religious services, concerts, sports competitions, entertainment for children and folk festivals. Ion Suruceanu, Pasha Parfeni, Magnat & Feoctist, Igor Cuciuc, Adriana Okishanu and other artists will perform in the north of the country these days. We tell you where and what events will take place.

What is celebrated on September 21

On September 21, Orthodox believers celebrate the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary - one of the major church holidays. According to the old style, this date falls on September 8. The holiday is dedicated to the birth of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ.

In honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, churches were consecrated in many localities in Moldova, so it is on these days that the Church of a village or city is traditionally celebrated there. Usually the holiday begins with a divine service, and then continues with concerts, folk festivals, sports competitions and other events. From September 20 to 22, such holidays will be held in a number of settlements in the north of the country.
