Greek Foreign Ministry stresses need to establish a permanent ceasefire in Gaza

The Greek Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Wednesday, stressed the need to establish a permanent ceasefire and fully implement the second phase of the 20-point Peace Plan for Gaza.
“Today marks three years since the heinous terrorist attack by Hamas against Israel, which tragically resulted in the loss of hundreds of civilian lives and triggered a dangerous chain of escalation with serious implications for peace and stability across the entire region,” the foreign ministry said.
“The return of the hostages was a source of relief and marked a decisive step towards achieving a sustainable settlement. Τhe need to establish a permanent ceasefire and fully implement the second phase of the 20-point Peace Plan for Gaza remains imperative.
Greece supports all humanitarian initiatives, as well as the resumption of the political process towards a two-state solution and the security of Israel, as the only viable path to achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, in accordance with the principles of International Law and the relevant United Nations Resolutions,” it added.
