Greek Defence Minister: Church of Cyprus’ support for the Armed Forces is tangible

Visiting Nicosia on Wednesday, for the 66th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Cyprus, Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias met with Archbishop Georgios of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus.
Dendias emphasised that his visit to the Archdiocese did not merely have a courtesy character, but provided an opportunity to express his gratitude to the archbishop, the Church of Cyprus and Cypriot Hellenism for the support they offer to the Greek Armed Forces.
For his part, archbishop Georgios thanked the minister for his repeated visits to the archdiocese and for the respect he shows, as he noted, towards the Church.
He spoke of the long-standing friendship, that unites them and their discussions concerning issues affecting both Greece and Cyprus.
