The Gomel diocese helped families prepare their children for schooltranslated

On the eve of the new school year, with the blessing of His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, the department for social service and church charity of the Gomel diocese traditionally held a charity event “Let's help get children ready for school.”
Families in difficult life circumstances turned to the social department for help. Among them are large, single-parent and guardianship families, as well as families raising children with disabilities.
The Vasiliev family is raising four children. Parents are deprived of parental rights, and it is not easy for a grandmother who has taken care of her grandchildren to independently provide her children with everything they need by the start of the school year.
The single-parent Serebryakov family with two minor children, who came from the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine, also asked for help. The mother is employed, but the family lives in rented housing and experiences financial difficulties.
The Zylev and Dichakov families of six children, where the children are growing up without a father, have been receiving school help from the Gomel diocese for several years now.
