It would be good to have the bishop's blessing first. In Heraklion we have a similar well that was cleaned last year and now people gather every Saturday. I hope they don't make it too touristy.

Yes, getting the bishop’s blessing first makes sense, like both of you said. Our parish cleaned up a little spring near the allotments a few years back and it stayed peaceful because we kept it simple, no stalls or signs everywhere. Hope they leave room for quiet prayer at the old aerodrome site too.
