Bishop Vincent performed a prayer service before the venerated icontranslated

September 2, 2026 · 1 min read

August 31, 2026 – celebration in honor of the icon of the Mother of God called “The Tsaritsa”.

Back in July 2024, one of the copies of this icon was brought to the city of Tara from the capital and presented to the Spassky Cathedral by the head of our Omsk Metropolis, Bishop Dionysius.

Now the image is kept in the city of Tara (temporarily in the building of the diocese while the restoration of the Spassky Cathedral is underway).

Bishop of Tara and Tyukalinsky Vikenty performed a prayer service before the revered image.

The following people prayed during the service: the secretary of the Diocesan Council, Archimandrite Thaddeus (Cherednichenko); Secretary of the Diocesan Administration, Priest Mikhail Safichuk; clergy of the cathedral, monastics and employees of the diocesan administration.

At the end of the service, the archpastor offered a prayer to the Zealous Intercessor, after which he addressed those gathered with a brief word.

Спасибо за новость. Хорошо, что икону «Всецарица» привезли в Тару ещё в 2024-м и теперь она доступна для молитвы, пока собор на реставрации. Интересно, когда планируют закончить работы в Спасском кафедральном.

I remember reading about that icon on pravoslavie.ru a while back. Good to hear Bishop Vincenty served the moleben right there in the diocesan building while the cathedral’s still under repair. Sophie, I wonder the same thing about the restoration timeline; maybe someone from the parish group can ask.

I’m glad that the icon “The Tsaritsa” was brought to Tara back in 2024 and now it stands in the diocese building while the Spassky Cathedral is being restored. Bishop Vincent did well to serve a prayer service there, with Father Mikhail and everyone else. I wonder when approximately they plan to complete the renovation of the cathedral?

It was nice to see Bishop Vincenty serve right there in the diocesan building with Fr. Michael Safichuk and the others while the cathedral is still closed for repairs. That icon has been a real help to people since Metropolitan Dionysius brought the copy in 2024. Does anyone know if the restoration has a target finish date yet?

I am glad that the icon is cared for in the eparchy while they fix the Spassky. Monsignor Vikenti's mélében with Father Mijail and the others felt very collected. Do you know if they already have a specific date for the reopening of the church or is it still early?

I'm glad you noticed, Ana, the mólében felt very serene indeed. Father Mijail always helps to keep everything organized. They have not yet said anything concrete about the reopening of the Spassky, or at least I have not heard a date; With the restoration of cathedrals these things usually go slower than one expects. Have you been to Tara lately?

I agree, it’s a real chance that it has already been there since 2024. At home in Toulouse we also have a copy of the “Всецарица” which circulates between the parishes during the work, it helps a lot. Do you know if the restoration of Spassky is progressing quickly?

Yes, the mólében felt very serene, especially when the bishop said the prayer at the end. Father Mijail always makes sure that not a single detail is missed. Have you already been able to get close to the icon in the eparchy or did you only see it in photos?

I'm glad you felt it was taken care of, Ana. I passed by the eparchy last week and the icon looks well cared for, although the space is temporary and a little narrow. Do you think that the restoration of the Spassky will progress faster now that they already have the icon there?
