Bishop Nicodim was ordained a bishop 25 years agotranslated

The Most Reverend Father Nicodim, Bishop of Severin and Strehaia, was ordained a bishop 25 years ago, on August 19, 2001.

The hierarch was born on April 6, 1962, in Godeanu commune, Mehedinți county, to parents Dumitru and Maria Nicolaescu, receiving the baptismal name Nicolae.

Between the years 1979-84, he attended the Theological Seminary in Mofleni - Craiova, and later, the Faculty of Theology in Bucharest (1989-1993), becoming a graduate with the work "Evangelical advice in the life of a monk".

Next, he pursued master's studies at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Athens (1998-2000), with the work "The Romanian Neo-Hesychast Tradition after Saint Paisie Velicicovschi and up to our days".

Since 2001, he was a doctoral student of the Faculty of Theology, University of Athens, Patrolology and History of Dogmas section and, in parallel, a doctoral student of the "Andrei Șaguna" Faculty of Theology in Sibiu, Patrolology and Patristic Literature section.
