Romanian students won three bronze medals at the International Economics Olympiadtranslated

Romanian students won three bronze medals at the 2026 International Economics Olympiad, held in Shenzhen, China, where 56 teams competed.

The medals were won by Radu Nedea, from the International British School of Bucharest, Robert Bercea, from the British International School of Timișoara, and Iustin Alexandru Gheorghe, from the "Mihai Viteazul" National College in Ploiești.

The Romanian team also included Giorgio Filippo Sforza, from the International School of Bucharest, and Iris Voinea, from the Cambridge School of Bucharest.

The batch was coordinated by Professor Cristian Gheorghe, academic coordinator of the Romanian Center for Excellence in Economics (RECE).

This year, 21 awards were given This year's result raises Romania's tally to 21 distinctions obtained in eight participations at the International Economics Olympiad: four silver medals, 15 bronze medals and two honorable mentions. The competition is dedicated to high school students and tests skills in economics, finance and solving a business case study.
