Election, ordination, and enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Paphos – The schedule of ceremonies

On Wednesday, 10 June 10, 2026, at 18:00, before the Festal Vespers, the Service of the Proclamation of the Election of the new Metropolitan of Paphos will be held at the Cathedral of Apostle Barnabas in Nicosia, according to an announcement by the Church of Cyprus.

On Thursday, 11 June 2026, on the feast of the Apostle Barnabas, founder and patron saint of the Church of Cyprus, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be celebrated, presided over by the Archbishop of Cyprus, Mr. Georgios, and concelebrated by the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna, together with members of the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus, at the festal Cathedral of Apostle Barnabas in Nicosia. During the Divine Liturgy, the ordination to the episcopacy of the newly elected Metropolitan of Paphos, Mr. Gregorios, will take place.

On the afternoon of 11 June 2026 at 18:00, the enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Paphos will take place at the Metropolitan Church of Saint Theodore in Paphos. The Metropolitan of Paphos will be accompanied by Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus and members of the Holy Synod.
