The clergy of the Smolevichi deanery took part in the celebration of Independence Daytranslated

On July 3, on the day of celebration of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, the clergy of the Smolevichi deanery took part in festive events dedicated to the memorable date. In the churches of the deanery, thanksgiving services were held and prayers were offered for peace, the well-being of the Fatherland and the prosperity of the Belarusian people.

The festivities began the day before. On July 2, a solemn meeting dedicated to Independence Day took place in the central square of the city of Smolevichi. The dean of the Smolevichi church district, Priest Nikodim Pashkov, took part in the memorable event. Paying tribute to the feat of their ancestors who defended the freedom and independence of their native land during the Great Patriotic War, the ceremony participants honored the memory of the heroes with a minute of silence. Flowers and wreaths were laid at the Eternal Flame as a symbol of the inextricable connection of generations.
