The road to the shrine: Procession on the Feast of the Exaltationtranslated

On September 27, on the day of the celebration of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the parish of the Church of the Deposition of the Robe of the Most Holy Theotokos in Blachernae in the city of Miory celebrated the celebration with a cathedral prayer.

This holiday combines two facets – sadness over the Savior’s suffering on the cross and jubilant joy over the salvation granted through them.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the believers, led by the rector, Archpriest Viktor Vabishchevich, and the church cleric, Deacon Dionysius Lavrinovich, walked in a religious procession to the Worship Cross, which stands on the western outskirts of the city.

Near the Worship Cross, Archpriest Viktor Vabishchevich performed a prayer service with the reading of an akathist to the Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord. Prayer chants contained the entire history of salvation - from the suffering of Christ - to the love that He brought into the world. At the end of the prayer service, the priest sprinkled holy water on the Worship Cross and all those present.
