Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism: An Hour of Remembrance in Nizhnyaya Turatranslated

On September 3, Russia marks the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism, a date that recalls the victims of terrorist attacks and the importance of unity of society and state in the face of violence.

On the eve of the memorable date in the Central City Library named after. An hour of remembrance “Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism” was held in Nizhnyaya Tura for D. N. Mamin-Sibiryak. The guests of the event were students of the Isovo Geological Exploration College.

Librarian E. V. Lomakina told young people about the tragic pages of the history of our country, about the terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of dozens of people. The memory of such events helps to understand the severity of the consequences of violence and the importance of caring for human life.

An important part of the meeting was the speech of the rector of the parish of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, Priest Igor. The priest spoke with the students about why young people sometimes turn out to be vulnerable to the tricks of terrorists, and what serious consequences such actions entail—not only for society, but also for the individual himself.

Thanks for sharing this. It's good they had Father Igor speak to the students—young people really do get pulled in by all sorts of nonsense online. The library event in Nizhnyaya Tura sounds like it hit the right notes, especially reminding everyone to stay merciful no matter what.

Yes, Father Igor knows how to speak plainly to lads that age – I’ve heard him do it before. The bit about staying merciful even when things get ugly is the part that stuck with me too. Did you ever go to one of these remembrance hours at the library yourself?
