Thanks for the article. It is interesting that the bishop Ambrosios went with the abbess Salomia and Eupraxia right after the liturgy for the hieromartyr Mitrophanes. The museum seems to hold the history of the area well, the old pictures they say must be impressive.

It is interesting that immediately after the service in honor of the holy martyr Mitrofan of Krasnopolsky, they went to the museum. Good work - show old icons and tell how Orthodoxy in Gomelshchyna was held. Thanks for the article, it's always useful to know what's going on in neighboring dioceses.

Thank you for the article. It is nice that right after the liturgy for St. Bishop Ambrose went to Mitrofan Krasnopolsky with mothers Salomia and Eupraksia directly to that home church-museum. The old icons and stories of how Orthodoxy has survived in Homel must be worth seeing live.

How interesting that right after the liturgy for Saint Mitrofan Krasnopolsky, Bishop Amvrosij went with Mother Salomia and Mother Evpraksia to the museum. I like that they preserve those ancient icons and explain how the faith was maintained in the Gomel region. Thanks for the article.

The timing does make sense — right after the liturgy for St. Mitrofan, those icons and the stories of how Orthodoxy held on in the Gomel region must have felt even more alive. I didn’t know Mother Eupraxia was with them too; she’s been quietly rebuilding the Ksenia monastery for years. Have you ever visited that house church-museum yourself?

Yes, Salomia and Eupraxia are active abbesses, I have known them for a long time. The museum of old pictures is really impressive, I remember seeing one from the 18th century when I went with my daughter. Have you visited anything similar lately?

I agree Anna, the icons there are really worth seeing. I would mainly focus on how Orthodoxy in Homel was maintained through all those difficult years - that is strength. Would you ever like to go there in person?
