The icon of the Right Judge on the frontispiece of the National Cathedral was recently flanked by the icons of the 12 apostles, also made in the mosaic technique.
"The new work completes the solemn appearance of the Cathedral, enriching its exterior and offering a foretaste of the iconographic richness inside," Daniel Codrescu, who coordinates the mosaic painting at the National Cathedral, wrote on Instagram.
The images captured during the installation show that the representations of the apostles are life-size, as large as a man - more precisely, each icon of the apostle is 1.7 meters high.
