The Satmăra communities celebrated the Day of the Romanian Village in a special waytranslated

During September 26-27, 2026, around the Romanian Village Day, a new edition of the "United Villages of Sătmarău" cultural event took place. The event was initiated by Adrian Felician Cozma, vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies, and organized with the blessing of His Holiness Father Iustin, Bishop of Maramureș and Sătmar.

The event began at the "St. Andrei - Chilia" Monastery in Homoroade, Satu Mare county, from where hundreds of people set off with horses and carts, dressed in folk costumes and wearing the tricolor.

For two days, the procession passed through several rural villages, with stops at churches, monasteries and in the middle of communities. They traveled over 80 kilometers together, on a journey where faith and tradition were present at every stop.
