Church of Greece delegation visits Constantinople to promote pilgrimage and religious tourism

A delegation representing Metropolises of the Church of Greece visited the Church of the Holy Trinity in Taksim, Constantinople, on Thursday, September 10, as part of a visit focused on pilgrimage tours and religious tourism.
A Vespers service and a special welcoming event were held at the historic church for the delegation, which included hierarchs and representatives of several Metropolises of the Church of Greece.
The visitors were welcomed by Metropolitan Andreas of Saranta Ekklisies, the hierarchal head of the Holy Trinity Church.
Greek Deputy Minister of Tourism Anna Karamanli, whose portfolio includes religious and pilgrimage tourism, and Greek National Tourism Organisation President Angeliki Varela also attended the event.
Following Vespers, presentations were delivered on pilgrimage tours and the significance of religious tourism.
The Stavrodromi Community subsequently hosted a reception for the guests, providing an opportunity to exchange views on ways of promoting Constantinople’s historic pilgrimage sites and preserving and highlighting the spiritual and cultural heritage of the city’s Greek Orthodox community.
