Divine Liturgy at the Holy Mother of God Kazan Monasterytranslated

On Tuesday, July 21, Metropolitan Theodosius of Samara and Novokuybyshevsk led the liturgy of the patronal feast at the Holy Mother of God Kazan Monastery in the village of Vinnovka. His Eminence was served by the clergy of the monastery and the clergy of the metropolis. Liturgical hymns were performed by the male choir “Sofia” under the direction of Deacon Andrei Popov. Vinnovka is a village in the south of Samarskaya Luka, located on the banks of the Volga. In 1770, the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was built there. 70 years later, construction began on a new stone church, which was completed in 1851. In February 1930 the temple was closed. The bells were thrown down and broken, and their fragments were drowned in the Volga. The building began to be used as a granary, then as a dining room, and later a barn was placed in it. The revival of the temple began in 2003 with the blessing of Archbishop Sergius. On October 5, the first liturgy was celebrated in the destroyed building. At the same time, the decision was made to create a monastery courtyard. In 2006, the first stone was laid for the foundation of the monastery hotel. In the same year, on July 21, the solemn consecration of the temple took place; on December 26, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church blessed the opening of the Holy Mother of God...
