Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in Chonkitranslated

On the 7th Sunday after Pentecost, when the Church celebrates the Council of Radonezh Saints, July 19, 2026, His Eminence Stephen, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, led the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Chonki.

His Eminence was co-served by the secretary of the Gomel diocese, Archpriest Georgy Alampiev, the rector of the parish, Priest Vitaly Partiy, and the clergy of the diocese.

During the service, prayers for peace were offered.

At the end of the Liturgy, Archbishop Stefan addressed the clergy and parishioners with an archpastoral word.

Then the bishop congratulated Priest Vitaly Party on his birthday, wished him God’s help, strength of spiritual and physical strength and many years of pastoral service, and also presented him with a holy image and flowers.

I am glad that His Holiness wished father Vitaly on his birthday and gave him a picture. It is beautiful when the Liturgy is connected to such personal moments in the parish.

Thank God for the ministry in Chënkah. I am especially pleased that Bishop Stefan congratulated Father Vitaly on his birthday and gave him an icon, it is very close to my heart. In our parish, we also often combine Liturgy with family days like this.
