I always try to remember that on the Dormition it's not just about not working in the garden — last year I skipped the usual weeding and spent the morning helping at the parish food bank instead, and it felt much more in keeping with the day. The article's list of "what not to do" is useful, but I wish they'd mentioned something positive we are encouraged to do, like taking the time to read the canon to the Theotokos.
