BNR launches the first rectangular silver coin, dedicated to the painter Nicolae Tonitzatranslated

The National Bank of Romania (BNR) will launch on Monday the first rectangular silver coin in its numismatic history, dedicated to the painter Nicolae Tonitza.
Noua emisiune deschide seria „Pictori români” și are valoarea nominală de 10 lei. The coin, made of silver, has dimensions of 43 x 31 mm, weight of 31.103 grams and is issued as a proof, in a print run of 500 copies.
On the obverse is reproduced, in color, the painting "Yellow Flowers", a work in the heritage of the National Art Museum of Romania. The painting was part of the art collection of the National Bank of Romania during the interwar period. The reverse shows the portrait of the artist, his name and the years of his life, 1886–1940.
The coins are packed in transparent capsules and are accompanied by presentation brochures and certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French. The selling price is 1,150 lei, VAT included.
The launch of the new coin into the numismatic circuit is carried out through the Bucharest, Cluj, Constanța, Dolj, Iaşi and Timiş regional branches of the National Bank of Romania.
