The Church is the community of believers in which God's work lives: New stage at Gatineau Parishtranslated

"What does the Church mean, then? It is the community of believers in which the work of God and His grace dwell, in which the Holy Trinity is reflected," said the Most Reverend Father John Casian, Bishop of Canada, on Saturday at the dedication of the Parish of Gatineau in Quebec, Canada.

The moment marked the end of an important stage in the history of the parish: the full payment of the church mortgage.

A new stage in the founding effort In the context of patronage and honoring the founders and benefactors, the hierarch also spoke about the true meaning of the Church. The place of worship is not only a material building, but the place where the community of believers gathers and where the grace of God is worked.

"The Holy Apostle Paul, when he talks about the Church, he talks about the living community", recalled His Eminence.

Congratulations to the Parish of Gatineau! It's a joy to see a community pay off the mortgage in full and move straight to phase two of decorating. "Today we build in faith. Tomorrow we decorate for generations" sounds concrete and I liked it a lot, as if it would also apply to us in Craiova.

Congratulations to the Parish of Gatineau. It's nice when a community finishes paying the mortgage and immediately starts decorating, exactly as Bishop Ioan Casian says - the church is not just walls, but the place where the living believers gather. The phrase "Today we build in faith. Tomorrow we adorn for generations" seemed very appropriate to me, as if it would also apply to us when we think about what we leave to our children.

Congratulations to Gatineau as well, Nicolae. I also liked that exhortation, "Today we build in faith. Tomorrow we adorn for generations," it sounds practical and long-term. Here in Iași, we finished painting the nave two years ago and small touch-ups are still appearing, as if it never ends. Do you think the second phase should start with the iconostasis or better with the floor?
