Conversation with a priest about the dangers of alcoholism and drug addictiontranslated

September 15, 2026 · 1 min read

On September 14, at the Spiritual and Educational Center of the Polotsk Diocese, a meeting was held between the priest and representatives of the Belarusian Society of Disabled People. Priest Georgy Odynets, cleric of the Epiphany Cathedral in Polotsk, told those present about the harmful effects of bad habits on the body and soul of a person.

The priest further reminded that the Sacraments of Repentance and Communion help to get rid of these bad habits and cleanse the soul of sin.

Father George was spot on about how those habits wear down both body and soul. It's good he mentioned Confession and Communion as the real help – I've seen that work in people's lives more than anything else. Thanks for sharing what happened at the centre on the 14th.
