As pilgrimage meeting closes in Vancouver: “the mission of God continues to unfold”

The Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity Reference Group of the World Council of Churches (WCC) concluded its meeting in Vancouver, Canada, held from 17 to 22 September, affirming a strategic direction to broaden and deepen the pilgrimage across the life of the fellowship.

Participants of the Vancouver meeting wore orange on Tuesday 22 September to express solidarity to the “Every Child Matters” campaign. The orange shirt movement originated with Phyllis Webstad, a residential-school survivor. She has described how, when she was six, her new orange shirt was taken away from her on her first day at a residential school in British Columbia.
