Archim. Dionisio Constantin says that God accepts us as we are, but does not call us to remain this waytranslated

"The call is the gift of God. But the answer to the call implies a change of life. God receives us as we are, but does not call us to remain as we are," Archim said on Sunday. Dionisie Constantin, coordinating patriarchal adviser.

Father Archimandrite officiated the Holy Liturgy at the Chapel of the National Cathedral and spoke in the sermon about the parable of the wedding of the emperor's son.

"The Gospel showed us two dangers: to remain outside the feast, because we do not respond to the call, and to be inside, but without the wedding garment. The first is the danger of carelessness. The second is the danger of a faith that does not change our life," said Archim. Dionysius Constantine.

Man can choose to stay out of joy "Today's Holy Gospel presents us with one of the most beautiful, but also most moving parables spoken by the Savior Christ," said Father Archimandrite.

"It is beautiful, because it speaks of the call of God as an invitation to a wedding, to a feast and to joy; but it is also shocking, because it shows us that man can remain outside of this joy, not because God did not call him, but because he himself...

That line about the two dangers really stuck with me — staying outside because we ignore the invitation, or showing up without the wedding garment. It’s a good reminder that showing up at church isn’t enough if my day-to-day life stays the same. Thanks for posting this.

Yes, exactly the part with the two dangers got me thinking. The carelessness is clear, but the one with the wedding dress - to come to the service but not let anything change in everyday life - that hits me harder. I wondered last night, after reading, if I was really answering the call or just sitting at the table without changing.
