On September 27, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the rector of the parish, Bishop Nikolai of Severobaikalsk and Sosnovo-Ozersk, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Intercession Church of Balashikha. At the end of the service, veneration of the cross was performed. Assistant rector Archpriest Sergiy Fedchenko thanked Bishop Nicholas for the perfect service. Bishop Nicholas addressed those gathered with an archpastoral speech, congratulated everyone on the holiday and presented icons.

Thank you for the message. I was happy to read that after the liturgy there was still bowing to the cross and that the bishop was handing out icons. Here in Olomouc, we also do it that way on holidays, and people then take them home.
