Archbishop Stefan visited the parish of the Church of the Skitkovo Icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, on September 4, 2026, paid a working visit to the parish of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Skitkovskaya”.

The rector of the parish, Archpriest Maxim Kolevatov, acquainted Vladyka with the progress of construction work on the territory of the church and spoke about the current life of the parish.

During the visit, Archbishop Stefan inspected the church and parish territory, discussed with the rector issues of continuing construction work and further development of the parish.

At the end of the visit, Vladyka wished Archpriest Maxim Kolevatov and the parishioners God’s help in their future labors.

It's good that Archbishop Stefan came personally and inspected the construction site. I wonder what stage the work is at now - have they done the roof or are they still building the foundations and walls? May the Lord help them, because building a church is always a long process.

Good to see Archbishop Stefan take the time to visit in person and look over the whole site with Fr. Maxim. I wonder if they’ve managed to get the walls up yet or if they’re still working on the foundations. May God give them steady help with the build.
