Archbishop Stefan visited minors in the pre-trial detention centertranslated

On the Day of Knowledge, September 1, 2026, Archbishop Stefan of Gomel and Zhlobin, together with the chairman of the Gomel regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, Alla Viktorovna Smolyak, visited the institution “Pretrial Detention Center No. 3” of the Department of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for the Gomel Region.
As part of the visit, Archbishop Stefan and Alla Viktorovna visited minors in the pre-trial detention center and gave them gifts for the beginning of the new school year.
Bishop Stefan gave the children gift sets with fresh fruit, juice, dried fruit and sweets.
In addition, Archbishop Stefan presented the institution with a certificate for the purchase of a video camera necessary for the isolation ward.
Archbishop Stefan spoke with the children, congratulated them on the beginning of the new school year, and wished them health, mental strength and God's help. The Bishop also urged them to look to the future with hope and remember the opportunity to change their lives for the better.
