Archbishop John performed a prayer service before the start of the school yeartranslated

On September 2, 2026, in the garrison church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Brest Fortress, Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin performed a prayer service before the start of the school year for students of Brest State Technical University.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Chairman of the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis, Rector of the Church of the Nativity in Brest, Archpriest Evgeniy Likhota; rector of the garrison church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archpriest Vitaly Khonovets, clergy of the Brest city deanery.

The diaconal rank was headed by the cleric of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Brest Fortress, Deacon Mikhail Maslo.

Liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the garrison church under the direction of Tatyana Maslo.

The service was attended by the rector of BrSTU Parfievich Andrey Nikolaevich, representatives of the teaching corporation and university students.

At the end of the service, Archbishop John, Honorary Professor of BrSTU, addressed the worshipers with a welcoming speech, congratulated the university staff and students on the beginning of the academic year, wished them success and gave God's blessing.
