Archbishop Nikitas Presides at Enthronement of Archbishop Apostolos of Canada

On Saturday, 19 September 2026, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain, representing His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, presided at the enthronement of His Eminence Archbishop Apostolos of Canada at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St Nicholas in Toronto.

The service brought together hierarchs, clergy and faithful from across Canada, alongside representatives of the civil authorities, the diplomatic community and the wider Hellenic community, as Archbishop Apostolos formally assumed the pastoral leadership of the Archdiocese of Canada.

Appointed as Patriarchal Representative by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Archbishop Nikitas was accompanied by the Revd Presbyter Pavlos Lambrou and the Very Revd Archdeacon Dr George Tsourous, who served as deacon during the ceremony.

Archbishop Nikitas read the Patriarchal message, conveying the paternal prayers and blessing of the Mother Church of Constantinople to the newly enthroned Archbishop, the clergy and the faithful of Canada.
