When I read the mention of St. Eutyches, I remembered how Mr. Dimitri was telling us that the disciple of John the Theologian was directly appointed as a bishop in Smyrna. He was a simple boy and yet he became a great martyr. I'll think about that when I'm in church tonight.

I also like the story of St. Eutyches, Tamar, especially the fact that he was a disciple of John and was directly ordained a bishop in Smyrna. I remember Mr. Dimitri's story very well, a simple boy and yet what courage. If I am at the evening liturgy, I will also think about how he endured the torture.
