08/10/2026 Celebrations in honor of the feast of the Shuya-Smolensk Icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

On August 10, celebrations took place in Shuya in honor of the feast of the Shuya-Smolensk Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Divine Liturgy in the Resurrection Cathedral of the city of Shuya was performed by Metropolitan Joseph of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and Vichuga, Metropolitan Nikon of Astrakhan and Kamyzyak, Bishop Hilarion of Kineshma and Palekh, Bishop John of Shuya and Teikovsky, Bishop Matthew of Akhtubinsk and Enotaevsky and Bishop Kallinik (Chernyshev) in the concelebration of numerous clergy.

The priestly rank was headed by Archimandrite Euthymius (Kulikov), who was elected Bishop of Anadyr and Chukotka by the Holy Synod at a meeting on July 16, 2026 (Journal No. 50).

At the end of the service, a religious procession with the Shuya-Smolensk Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos took place along the main streets of Shuya, which ended with a prayer service and glorification of the Most Holy Theotokos.
