Послание к Титу св. Апостола Павла

1) Paul, a servant of God, an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect and the understanding of the truth, which, according to godliness, abides 2) in the hope of eternal life, which the unlying God promised before the ages, 3) in due time revealed His word in the preaching entrusted to me by the command of our Savior God, - 4) Titus, beloved son according to the common faith: grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. 5) For this reason, I left you in Crete, so that you could correct what there are shortcomings and appoint presbyters in the cities, as I ordered you: 6) if anyone is without blemish, the husband of one wife, has faithful children, not under charges of debauchery or disobedience. 7) For a bishop must be without blemish, as God’s steward: not proud, not angry, not a drinker, not a murderer, not pursuing shameful gain, 8) but hospitable, kind, sober, righteous, holy, self-controlled, 9) holding, according to the doctrine, the true word, so that he may be able to instruct in sound doctrine and those who contradict denounce. 10) For there are also many disobedient, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those who are of circumcision, 11) who must be exposed: they corrupt entire houses, teaching what they should not, for the sake of shameful gain. 12) One of them, their own “prophet,” said: “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy bellies” (Epimenides of Crete, “On Oracles”). 13) This testimony is true. For this reason, scold them mercilessly, so that they may be sound in the faith, 14) not heeding the Jewish fables and commandments of people who turn away from the truth. 15) To the pure everything is pure; For the defiled and unfaithful, nothing is pure, but their mind and conscience are defiled. 16) They confess that they know God, but deny by deeds, for they are vile, and not worthy of trust, and are incapable of any good deed. 1) You say what is appropriate for sound teaching: 2) so that the elders are sober, modest, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3) in a similar way, the old women were in clothing appropriate to holiness, not slanderers, not very partial to wine, teaching good; 4) to teach prudence to the young, so that they love their husbands, love their children, 5) to be prudent, clean, sober, caring for the home, kind, submissive to their husbands, so that the word of God is not blasphemed. 6) Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober. 7) In everything, show yourself an example of good deeds, in teaching, in honesty, in power, 8) in sound, impeccable speech, so that those who resist will be afraid, not having anything bad to say about us. 9) Exhort slaves to be obedient to their masters, to please [them] in everything, not to contradict, 10) not to cheat, but to show good fidelity in everything, so that in everything they will be an adornment to the teaching of our Savior, God. 11) For the grace of God our Savior has appeared to all men, 12) teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this age, 13) looking forward to the blessed hope and the coming of the glory of the great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14) who gave himself for us, to redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself an acceptable people, zealous for good works. 15) Speak and exhort and reprove this with all authority. Yes, no one neglects you. 1) Remind them: to be submissive to superiors and authorities, to obey what is said, to be ready for every good deed, 2) not to slander anyone, not to be grumpy, but modest, to show all kinds of meekness to all people. 3) For we too were once foolish, unfaithful, lost, serving lusts and various pleasures, living in malice and envy, hated, hating one another. 4) When the goodness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5) not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6) Whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7) so that, having been justified by His grace, we might be heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8) The word is true; and I want you to firmly insist that those who believe in God should be concerned about good deeds. This is good and useful for people. 9) Avoid foolish competitions and genealogies, and disputes, and strife about the law, for they are useless and vain. 10) A person who is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, turn away, 11) knowing that he has turned over, who is such, and creates lawlessness when he is condemned by his own court. 12) When I send Artema or Tychicus to you, hurry up to come to me in Nikopol, for I have decided to spend the winter there. 13) Zina the teacher of the law and Apollos carefully went before them, so that they would not lack anything. 14) Let ours also learn to continue in good deeds, [to satisfy] necessary needs, so that they are not unfruitful. 15) All those who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in faith. The grace of God is with you all. Amen.
