Второе Послание к Тимофею св. Апостола Павла

1) Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, according to the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus, 2) To Timothy, beloved son: grace, mercy, peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 3) I thank God, Whom I serve from my ancestors with a clear conscience, that I continually remember you in my prayers, night and day, 4) wanting to see you, remembering your tears, so that I may be filled with joy, 5) bringing to mind the faith that is genuine in you, which previously lived in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice; I am sure that it is in you too. 6) For this reason, I remind you to resurrect the grace of God that is in you through the position of my hands; 7) For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and sobriety. 8) So, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, His prisoner; But cooperate with the gospel according to the power of God, 9) who saved us and called us with his holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began. 10) Now it is revealed by the enlightenment of our Savior Jesus Christ, who destroyed death and made life and incorruption shine forth through the gospel, 11) for whom I was appointed preacher and apostle, and teacher of the pagans. 12) For what reason do I suffer like this; but I'm not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed, and I am confident that He is able to keep my pledge for that day. 13) Follow the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me in faith and love in Christ Jesus. 14) Keep the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. 15) You know this, that all those in Asia have turned away from me; of which Figellus and Hermogenes. 16) May the Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he often gave me coolness, and was not ashamed of my bonds, 17) but when he came to Rome, he searched for me diligently and found me. 18) May the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day. And how long he served me in Ephesus, you know better. 1) Therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2) and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, impart to faithful people who will be able to teach others. 3) Work like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4) No one, being a warrior of God, binds himself to secular affairs in order to please the One before whom he is being tested. 5) For even if someone struggles in battle, he will not be crowned unless he strives lawfully. 6) The toiling farmer must be the first to taste the fruit. 7) Understand what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. 8) Remember the Lord Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, from the seed of David, according to my gospel, 9) for which I suffer even to the point of imprisonment, like an evildoer; but there are no bonds for the word of God. 10) Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they too may be counted worthy of the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with heavenly glory. 11) The word is true: for if we died with [Him], [then] with [Him] we will also live; 12) if we endure, [then] we will reign with [Him]; if we deny, He will deny us; 13) if we do not believe, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 14) Remember this, testifying before the Lord. Do not enter into disputes of words, which serve no purpose except to the destruction of those who listen. 15) Try carefully to present yourself to God as a worthy, steadfast worker who correctly interprets the word of truth. 16) Avoid worldly things and idle talk; for they will advance greatly in wickedness, 17) and their word will spread like cancer. Of these are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18) who departed from the truth, saying that the resurrection had already happened, and ruined the faith of some. 19) But the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are Him” (cf. Numbers 16:5 LXX); and: “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness” (cf. Numbers 16:26; Ps. 6:9; Is. 26:13, 52:11). 20) In a large house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; and some for honor, others for humiliation. 21) So, if anyone cleanses himself from these, he will be a vessel of sanctification and usefulness to the Master, ready for every good deed. 22) Flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, hope, love and peace with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart. 23) Avoid stupid and ignorant competitions, knowing that they give rise to discord. 24) The servant of the Lord should not argue, but be meek towards everyone, teachable, patient, 25) with modesty exposing those who oppose the truth, whether God will ever give them repentance to the knowledge of the truth, 26) and whether they will not come to their senses from the snares of the devil, with which they are kept caught in his will. 1) Know this, that in the last days dangerous times will come. 2) People will be selfish, greedy, proud, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked, 3) without cordiality, without love of peace, slanderers, incontinent, not meek, merciless, 4) traitors, insolent, pompous, and more lovers of pleasure than lovers of God, 5) having the appearance piety, but renounced its power. And turn away from these: 6) for among them are those who penetrate into houses, leading into a place full of little women, burdened with sins, who are led by various lusts, 7) always learning and never reaching the knowledge of the truth. 8) Just as Jannes and Mamre resisted Moses, so these too resist the truth, men corrupt in mind and corrupt in faith. 9) But they will not advance further; for their madness will be revealed to everyone, just as it was with them. 10) You followed me in teaching, way of life, plan, faith, generosity, love, patience, 11) in persecution, suffering, which befell me in Antioch, Iconium, Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and the Lord delivered me from them all. 12) And all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13) Evil people and seducers will prosper for the worse, being mistaken and deceiving. 14) You continue in what you have learned and what has been entrusted to you, knowing from whom you learned it; 15) and because you have known from infancy the sacred Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus. 16) Every Scripture inspired by God is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, 17) that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 1) I charge before God and our Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead through His coming and His Kingdom: 2) preach the word, be present in season [and] out of season, reprove, plead, rebuke with all patience and teaching. 3) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires they will accumulate for themselves a heap of teachers with itching ears; 4) and, moreover, they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn to fables. 5) Be vigilant, endure everything, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. Be sober. 6) For I have already been scooped up [as a sacrificial drink offering], and the time for my resolution has come. 7) I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 8) For the rest, there is prepared for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will reward me on that day, not only to me, but also to those who loved His coming. Hurry up and come to me soon. 9) For Demas left me, having loved this world, and went to Thessalonica, 10) Crescent to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. 11) Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for my service. 12) I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. 13) The cloak that I left in Troas with Carp, when you come, bring with you, and books, especially those made of parchment. 14) Alexander the coppersmith showed me a lot of evil. May the Lord reward him according to his deeds! 15) Avoid him too, for he strongly opposed our words. 16) At my first defense, no one was with me, but everyone left me. May it not be imputed to them! 17) The Lord appeared to me and strengthened me, so that through me the sermon could be preached and all the pagans would hear; and I was delivered from the mouth of the lions. 18) The Lord has delivered me from every evil deed, and will save me into His Heavenly Kingdom; to Him be glory forever and ever. Amen. 19) Salute Priscilla and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus. 20) Erastus remained in Corinth; I left Trofim sick in Milita. 21) Hurry up to come before winter. Evvul, and Pudent, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren greet you. 22) The Lord Jesus Christ is with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
