1) Paul and Silvanus and Timothy - the church of Thessalonians, in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2) Grace and peace to you. We thank God always for all of you, making remembrance of you in our prayers continuously, 3) remembering the work of your faith, and labor, and love, and the patience of trust [in] our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father, 4) knowing, brothers beloved by God, your election; 5) For our gospel to you was not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much fullness, as [you yourselves] know what we were like among you for you. 6) And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word with much sorrow, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 7) so that you became an example for all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. 8) For from you the word of the Lord has spread not only to Macedonia and Achaia; but your faith, which is before God, has penetrated everywhere, so there is no need for us to say anything. 9) For they themselves proclaim about us, what kind of entrance we had to you; and how you turned to God from idols, [to] serve the living and true God 10) and wait for His Son from heaven (Whom He raised from the dead), Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come. 1) For you yourselves know, brethren, about our coming to you, that it was not in vain; 2) But having first suffered and been mocked in Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to proclaim to you the gospel of God with great care. 3) For in our exhortation there is nothing from error, nor from impurity, nor from wickedness; 4) but just as we were put to the test by God, so that the gospel might be entrusted to us, so we speak, not as if pleasing men, but to God, who tests our hearts. 5) For we never came before you with words of flattery, as you know, and did not look for an opportunity for greed: God is my witness! 6) Not seeking glory from men: neither from you nor from others. 7) When we could burden you, like the Apostles of Christ, but we were little ones among you, just as when a nurse cherishes her children. 8) So, thirsting for you, we passionately desired to convey to you not only the gospel of God, but even our souls, because you have become loved by us. 9) For you remember, brethren, our labor and exhaustion: working night and day, so as not to burden any of you, we preached the gospel of God to you. 10) You are witnesses and God, how holy, and righteous, and blameless we were before you, who believe, 11) as you know, how each of you (like a father of his children), 12) we asked you, and consoled, and testified [to you], that you would walk worthy of God, who has called you into His Kingdom and glory. 13) Therefore, we thank God continually, because when you received the word of God that you heard from us, you received it not as the word of men, but (as truly it is) as the word of God, which works in you who have believed. 14) For you, brethren, have become imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea, in Christ Jesus, for you also suffered the same things from your fellow tribesmen, just as they did from the Jews, 15) who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and persecuted us, and do not please God, and oppose all men, 16) forbidding us from speaking to the Gentiles, so that saved in order to always fill your sins; for the wrath of God is coming upon them even to the end. 17) But we, brothers, having been separated from you for a short time in face, and not in heart, all the more hastened with great desire to see your face. 18) Because we wanted to come to you, especially I, Paul, once and twice, but Satan prevented us. 19) For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of praise? Are you not before our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? 20) For you are our glory and joy. 1) For this reason, not tolerating it any longer, we deigned to remain alone in Athens, 2) and sent Timothy, our brother and servant of God in the gospel of Christ, to confirm you and encourage you in your faith, 3) so that no one would waver in these sorrows: for you yourselves know that we are set for this. 4) For even then, as we were with you, we predicted to you that we would suffer torment, as it happened, and you know. 5) Therefore, I, unable to bear it any longer, sent to find out about your faith, so that the tempter would not suddenly tempt you, and our labor would not become in vain. 6) Now, when Timothy came to us from you and told us about your faith and love, and that you always have a good memory of us, wanting to see us, just as we do you, 7) then we, brothers, were comforted about you, in all our sorrow and need, for the sake of your faith; 8) because now we are alive if you stand in the Lord. 9) For what thanks can we give to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice over you before our God, 10) praying more and more night and day that we may see your face and complete what is lacking in your faith? 11) May our God and Father Himself and our Lord Jesus Christ direct our path to you. 12) May the Lord grant to you increase and abundance in love for one another and for everyone, just as we have for you, 13) to establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. Amen. 1) Therefore, with regard to other things, brethren, we ask and beseech you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us how you ought to walk and please God, that you may do so, that you may abound more. 2) For you know what commandments I gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3) For this is the will of God—your sanctification, that you abstain from fornication; 4) so ​​that each of you knows how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor, 5) and not in the passion of lust, like the pagans, who do not know God; 6) and so that no one transgresses or cheats in a matter with his brother: for the Lord is the Avenger of all this, as we told you before and testified. 7) For God did not call us to uncleanness, but to sanctification. 8) So, whoever neglects this does not neglect man, but God, who also gives His Holy Spirit in us. 9) We have no need to write to you about brotherly love; for you yourselves have learned from God to love one another. 10) For this is what you are doing for all the brothers throughout Macedonia. We beseech you, brethren, that you be even more abundant [in zeal] 11) and make an effort to live quietly, and to do your work, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you; 12) and that you deal honestly with those who remain outside, and do not covet anything from anyone. 13) I do not want to leave you, brothers, in ignorance about the dead, so that you do not grieve like others who have no hope. 14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, God will also bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15) For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord do not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16) Because the Lord Himself, with a command, and with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trumpet of God, will descend from heaven; and the dead which are in Christ shall first rise again. 17) Then we who are left alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet Christ in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18) Therefore, comfort one another with these words. 1) About times and moments, you do not need, brothers, for us to write to you, 2) for you yourselves know with certainty that the day of the Lord, like a thief in the night, so it will come. 3) For when they say: “Peace and security,” then destruction will suddenly come upon them, like pain on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4) But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that that day should overtake you like a thief. 5) For you are all sons of light and sons of day: [we] are not [sons] of night nor of darkness. 6) Let us therefore not sleep, like others, but let us stay awake and be sober. 7) For those who sleep sleep at night, and those who get drunk become drunk at night. 8) Let us, being [sons of] the day, be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and the helmet of the hope of salvation, 9) because God did not intend us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10) who died for us, so that whether we wake or sleep, we might all live together with Him. 11) For this reason, comfort one another and edify one another, as you also do. 12) We ask you, brethren, that you may know those who labor among you, and those who preside over you in the Lord, and admonish you, 13) that you may have them abounding in [your] love for their work; have peace with them. 14) We beseech you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient with everyone. 15) See that no one repays evil for evil; but always follow what is kind, to each other and to everyone. 16) Always be happy. 17) Pray without ceasing. 18) In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you all. 19) Do not quench the spirit. 20) Do not neglect prophecies. 21) Try everything, and hold on to what is good. 22) Refrain from all kinds of evil. 23) May the God of peace Himself sanctify you in everything, so that your entire spirit, soul, and body may be preserved without blemish at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24) He who calls you is faithful, and He will do it. 25) Brothers! Pray for us. 26) Greet all brothers with a holy kiss. 27) I adjure you by the Lord that this message be read to all the holy brothers. 28) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you. Amen.
