1) Paul and Silvanus and Timothy - the church of the Thessalonians, in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2) Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3) We must always thank God for you, brothers, since this is worthy [of that], because above all your faith increases, and the love of each of you for each other abounds, 4) so that we ourselves boast in you in the churches of God, for the sake of your patience and faith, and in all the persecutions against you and the sorrows that you endure, 5) for the example of the righteous judgment of God, so that you may be considered worthy of the Kingdom God, for whom you suffer.
6) If, however, it is right in the sight of God to repay with sorrow those who cause you sorrow, 7) and for you who have been caused sorrow, by resting with us in the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with His mighty angels, 8) in the flame of fire avenging vengeance on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, 9) who will receive eternal punishments in destruction, from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His might, 10) when He comes to be glorified in His saints, and to become wondrous on that day among all who believe, for our testimony among you was worthy of faith on that day. 11) For this reason we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling, and fulfill every good pleasure in goodness and the work of faith with power, 12) that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may shine in you, and you in Him, by the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1) We pray to you, brethren, through the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and for the sake of our gathering in Him, 2) that you will not soon be shaken in your feelings and not be horrified either by the spirit, or by the word, or by the message supposedly sent by us, that the day of Christ is [already] approaching. 3) Let no one deceive you in any way: because [this will not happen] unless a falling away comes first and the man of sin, the son of perdition, is revealed, 4) who opposes and exalts himself above everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sits in the church of God, revealing himself to be God. 5) Didn’t you remember that when I was still with you, I told you this? 6) And now you know that he does not allow it to be revealed in due time. 7) For the mystery of iniquity is already in action; only the one who holds back now holds back until he is taken out of the midst.
8) And then that wicked one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the spirit of His mouth, and will crush him with the brightness of His coming - 9) [whose coming, according to the work of Satan, will be with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10) and with all deceitfulness of unrighteousness [for] those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11) Therefore God will send them the power of error, so that they will believe lies, 12) so that all who did not believe the truth, but agreed with iniquity, will be judged. 13) We must always give thanks to God for you, brethren, beloved of God, because God chose you as the firstborn fruits of salvation, in the sanctification of the Spirit and in the true faith, 14) in whom He called you by our gospel, to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15) So, brethren, stand still; and adhere to the traditions which you have learned, either through the word or through our message. 16) Let our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God and our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal consolation and good hope in grace, 17) encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word.
1) In relation to the rest, brothers, pray for us, so that the word of the Lord will run and shine, just as it does with you, 2) and let us get rid of arrogant and evil people, for faith is not the lot of everyone. 3) But the Lord is faithful, who will strengthen you and keep you from the evil one. 4) We trust in you in the Lord, because what we command you, you do and will do. 5) May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. 6) We command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly, and not according to the tradition which you received from us. 7) For you yourselves know how you should imitate us; For we did not riot among you, 8) We did not eat anyone’s bread for free, but we labored with toil and exhaustion, night and day, so as not to burden any of you. 9) Not because we allegedly had no power, but to give you ourselves as a model for us to follow. 10) For when we were with you, this was prescribed to you: “For if anyone does not want to work, let him not eat.” 11) For we hear that some among you walk disorderly, doing nothing, but acting out of curiosity.
12) We exhort and implore those who are of this nature in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work in silence and eat their own bread. 13) But you, brothers, do not get tired of doing good. 14) If anyone does not listen to our word through the message [proclaimed], take note of him and do not communicate with him, so that he may be put to shame. 15) And do not consider him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 16) May the Lord of peace Himself give you everlasting peace in every place. May the Lord be with you all! 17) Greeting with my hand, Paul’s, which serves as a sign in every epistle; so I write: 18) “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen".
