153. К епископам, прибывшим вместе с западными епископами

The previous feats of your honesty were also great: the righteous and due indignation you expressed about the disasters that have engulfed so many churches, your condolences about their situation, the transition from feeling to action and the adoption of all measures in their favor on your part. But even greater is the real feat of your love, since each of you has now left home, decided to take such a long journey, live in a foreign land and endure all the difficulties associated with a long journey, solely for the good of the church. We thank you infinitely for this and extol you, congratulating you for the innumerable rewards that you thus prepare for yourself from the man-loving God. Since, meanwhile, we cannot come to you, as exiles, or even write to you often due to the difficulty of finding people to send letters (otherwise we would write to you countlessly), we now begged my lord, the most honest and reverent presbyter, who, however, himself had a strong desire to go to you and see your reverence, so that he would deliver your letters to us and take advantage of the happiness personally enjoy your love. Please accept him in a manner worthy of you and, if possible, do not consider it a problem to notify us about your health. It is very desirable for us to know that you are prospering, and this will give us great consolation in our sad life in the desert. The paragraphs in the text were arranged by us. – Editorial staff of “ABC of Faith” You might be interested in:
