152. К епископам, прибывшим вместе с прибывшими с запада епископами

And before we were amazed at your zeal and the vigilant care you provide for the benefits of the church, but now, when, to top it all off, you decided to undertake such a long journey for the same purpose and, without hesitation for long, with the courage characteristic of you, completed such a difficult journey, you completely amazed us and filled us with a feeling of lively gratitude, which therefore we constantly express to you, both in writing, at the present time, and in addition to letters. You amazed not only us, but also everyone in the east and made you preachers of your unyielding firmness, your ardent love and invariability in your dispositions. No one now considers either the distance of the journey or the difficulties of the journey to be something difficult and burdensome, as quickly as the matter is about hastening to you and seeing your great exploits. So my lord, the most honest and reverent presbyter, despite all the weakness of his health, decided to endure everything, just so that he could come to you for this purpose and have the happiness of taking advantage of his personal presence with you. Accept it with your characteristic love and, even if our misfortunes increase even more, we earnestly ask you - do not refuse to help eliminate them and put an end to your feat worthy of the beginning. You know how great your reward will be from the philanthropic God for your labors undertaken for the benefit of so many churches brought into confusion, and for your every effort to lead them into a quiet haven.
