I, No. 23 and 24, where they were first published according to (foreign) lists inaccessible to us Sometimes we also write to the former Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Rus' Photius, we bishops of the Kyiv Metropolis, by grace of the Holy Spirit: as if you came from afar, we saw that you were doing many things not according to the apostolic and paternal rules; and we, according to the rules, tremble, like our metropolitan, and wait for your correction: whenever we hear about you, we are truly confident about some thing, which is not only not according to the rules, but also under the eruption and under the curse, which you yourself, having tested your conscience, you know.
