Psalm 119 should be read more often with heartfelt attention. That’s how many good thoughts my holy Guardian Angel inspired in me and never ceases to inspire! and I remain unreasonable! Marvelous, incomprehensible is this long-suffering. How many sins, how much wrath of the all-good God, both for me alone every day, and for all people! God's long-suffering is wonderful! But just as marvelous and on the contrary is our impatience and malice towards our neighbors, weak and sinful, just like us; Our, and especially mine, is amazing ingratitude to God, who forgives me the darkness of talents and provides me with all kinds of blessings, and the greatest of blessings - His Flesh and Blood! So often I taste them, I am cleansed, sanctified, renewed, enlightened, strengthened, enlivened by them - and, alas! I remain uncorrected. How long will I use the goodness, generosity and long-suffering of God for evil? What kind of evil is in me? What kind of pride, what kind of pride? What kind of envy? What kind of gluttony and drunkenness is this? What kind of fornication? What kind of laziness and carelessness about piety is this? What kind of dissatisfaction? For sullenness? For grumbling? What kind of rudeness, what impudence, beating, disobedience? What kind of timidity, embarrassment, cowardice, what false shame, what kind of man-pleasing, what kind of servility, what kind of fear of man instead of the fear of God? What kind of deceit, what kind of double-mindedness, what kind of lie, deceit, failure to fulfill a promise? What kind of contempt 10, what kind of hatred of mankind, gloating, malevolence, what kind of laughter, idle talk, idle reading, vain spending of time, so precious? What kind of lack of faith, hopelessness 11 future resurrection, judgment and retribution? Where is the vigil for the souls about whom it is appropriate to give a word? Be patient with me and with all of us, O Long-suffering One, encouraging us to repentance, and grant time for repentance and correction.
