God! I thank You for Your powers, revealed to me, a sinner, upon communion of the Divine Mysteries in church and then in the gymnasium during the fourth and sixth grades (Tuesday), for You gave me peace and freedom of heart, boldness, strength, word, light of face, especially during the fourth grade (that is, in the fourth grade). I thank You for the sovereign destruction of the violence that tormented me the passion of stinging perishable food for my neighbor [...] upon my arrival at home, for peace and freedom.
It’s a strange thing: a carnal man hates those with whom he must share earthly goods every day, especially money, food, drink, sweets, because he would like to take everything alone, eat and sleep everything, although he needs very little. Oh, what wild greed and avarice of the old carnal man, and how not to crucify our flesh with its passions and lusts, how not to arm ourselves against it, as against the most poisonous snake, how not to beat it, which can kill us forever! The Savior was crucified in the flesh on the cross: this example is enough for us to crucify our multi-passionate, vile flesh. If the Lord allowed His most pure flesh to be crucified, then shall we not crucify our unclean flesh? God! Help!
I glorify Your compassion, O Lord, because You heard me, who called out to You for help and intercession (at the council on January 25), and You granted me everything I asked: I did not have peace - You gave peace, I did not have freedom and boldness - You gave them, I did not have purity of heart - You gave it.
An example of trust in God's Providence, told by Strelnikov: on Easter, an unknown person sent a Easter cake and fifty rubles of money to a poor official.
God is the all-seeing Eye - and our soul is a simple eye 21; If your eye is simple, your whole body will be bright, says the Lord [Matt. 6, 22]. So let the Lord be your eye in your heart. Our soul is an eye from an Eye, and just as the soul sees through bodily vision, so God, the Eye of our heart, sees through our heart’s eye in its pure state. Hence the prophets, seers, who saw the future and the unseen and the innermost thoughts of men.
People suffer from heart vision: it is darkened, coarsened and covered, as it were, with bark from various worldly addictions, painful, corrupted. We must pray to God earnestly to heal our mental eyes, to thin and enlighten them. This is what the gospel blind men teach us, who prayed to the Lord to heal their eyes: Lord, let me see [Lk. 18, 41]. Lord the Savior! Enlighten our mental eyes of the heart. Those who are physically blind are worthy of pity; those who are spiritually blind, that is, subject to various passions and addictions, are worthy of greater pity, for by their will they perish temporarily and eternally and are in danger of being forever deprived of the sight of the Sun of Truth.
The devil, who has blinded himself with endless pride, disobedience, malice and impurity, is especially strong and constantly intensifies to blind us from time immemorial, and even now he is straining all possible efforts to blind and keep in constant blindness the eyes of everyone’s hearts and keeps in blindness all those who voluntarily deviate from the truth of the Gospel and from the Sun of Truth - Christ and from His Holy Church, the guardian and interpreter of the word. evangelical Hence there is an extreme need for everyone to listen to the Gospel, read it, learn from it, and reflect on it.
Magic performance at the Commercial Club during the sixth week of Lent.
Kronstadt officers do not go to confession or receive communion. This is the fruit of freethinking! This is the fruit of theaters, clubs, dinners, masquerades! Souls have become corrupted! Do evil to them, O Lord, do evil to the glorious ones of the earth [Isa. 26, 15].
A truly good person rejoices that his family, or guests, or the poor, or strangers are satisfied and generally satisfied with the gifts of God that God sends him; he rejoices about his family every day, about others - when they visit him and are treated to him, he shows a contented, affectionate and friendly appearance towards everyone, he does not eat with anyone with a proud eye and an unsatisfied heart [Ps. 100, 5], but considers himself obliged to them for the fact that he pleases them, acquiring from this, as it were, self-interest, for he thinks and believes that in their person he serves the Lord Himself, of whom they are members [Eph. 5, 30]. And an evil and crafty person grieves almost every day that others use the gifts of God, handed to him, as the word of God says, for distribution and use [Lk. 12, 42 – 48 ], for example, pleasant foods, drinks, money, etc., and he is not the only one who uses them; he does not tolerate daily sharing in the consumption of sweets and is constantly grieved and embarrassed when he sees their consumption, for, being a carnal man, he trusts in them, and not in the Lord, who richly gives us all things to enjoy (1 Tim.
6, 17), considers himself alone, out of the blindness of pride, as the absolute owner of them, and others to the extent that they serve him or generally work, although his works are very small; and he does not believe and does not realize that those who eat from his meal are members of the body of Christ and that his blessings are gifts of God, handed over to him from God for distribution. The gifts of God for the evil and evil one are not good, but evil because of his evil heart, fetters for his soul and body, thorny thorns that wound him daily and repeatedly, the shame of his face. In order for him to always be content and calm with the gifts of God, he must acquire simplicity of heart, surrender completely to the will of God, always be in God and expect everything from God, our Provider and Trustee. He must utter the words in his heart more often: I do not trust in anyone or anything except God, I do not cleave to anything except Him, for He alone is the source of my life, He is the God of my heart. I cannot work for God and mammon [Matt. 6, 24].
I sinned again by being partial to the world and its benefits, I worked for mammon - I regretted giving the poor as much as they demanded; I was offended, bitterly offended by them, that they sometimes deceive, although, perhaps, out of our hardness of heart. I grumbled at the Lord, cursed for placing them on me. So what? It is good to be a servant of the Lord among the poor. Share with the poor without complaint: if you can give a lot, give more; if you have little, give little by little. They relentlessly follow you and insistently demand - do not be irritated: it is no dishonor to you that they follow you, but on the contrary, it is an honor; and consider their importunity as childish stupidity or a matter of necessity and go quietly on your way.
Drink tea with sugar: plain tea without sugar is annoying. And John the Baptist ate wild honey [Matt. 3, 4]. Jesus Christ and the apostles ate from the honeycombs of bees [Lk. 24, 42].
I did not love my neighbor as myself: I did not give him everything that he demanded, that is, some of the poor. We, the strong, must endure the weaknesses of the powerless and not please ourselves. Each of us must please our neighbor for good and edification. For Christ did not please himself [Rom. 15, 1–3]. But we are only looking to please ourselves: we ourselves are fed up, and the poor are hungry, we ourselves are beautifully and warmly dressed, and the poor are naked, we ourselves live in rich, spacious, clean, warm dwellings, while the poor have a barely cramped apartment like a stable. And who takes care of them? Nobody wants to know them. And their last pennies are mercilessly taken from them for lodging.
God tune 22 gives us the eternal blessings of the Kingdom of Heaven - what do the earthly blessings that we give to our neighbors in His name mean? - Nothing, at least we distributed hundreds of rubles to the poor every day.
They go to the menagerie to look at the beasts of prey, but I don’t go, because I myself have a menagerie in my inner church: my passions are true beasts that torment me. What do I care about real animals? I need to tame my passions. Do you go to see the animals? Have you tamed your passions? Aren't you a wild beast yourself? Are you not tormenting yourself and your neighbor with malice, self-will, hard-heartedness, drunkenness, pride, envy, stinginess, impurity, suspicion, and so on?
Take away the spirit of curiosity from me, Lord, for it is the spirit of the devil; grant me love for my heavenly, true and eternal Fatherland.
Everything is not mine, but God’s and equal for everyone - so speak to yourself, master of the house, about all the sweets you have at your table. Consider everyone sitting as one with you: if you wish for yourself what is pleasant from others, and for others you wish what is pleasant from yourself, from your property, and remember that everyone needs a little and needs the usual amount every day. Rejoice that from yours, and especially from God’s, the people of God enjoy and are satisfied, for whom the Lord has richly provided everything for their enjoyment (1 Tim. 6:17). Do not spare anything for them or for yourself, but consider everything as rubbish that is under your feet: for the Lord has subdued everything under the nose of man [Ps. 8, 7]. Look with deep respect at every person for whom everything is, for whom the Lord came down from heaven, lived on earth, suffered, shed His blood, died and rose again, and for whom He is preparing eternal heavenly abodes. Give up material mania, or food addiction and material addiction, cleave to the one Lord: let He be everything for you, and everything else is like nothing.
Friday before Holy Week. Evening. Weddings. The Lord helped with boldness, calmness and greatness of spirit to celebrate two weddings - in the cathedral and in the Duma. I thank the Lord, who granted victory over invisible enemies.
Wonderful goodwill: eat for your health!
Oh, if we always spoke these words in simplicity of heart, sincerely! And then we often speak with slyness: we say - and we ourselves regret our own sweets for our neighbor. The shell, the word, is there, but the core, feelings, love are not there.
People [and I] amuse themselves with the ghost of life, that is, present life, and neglect the true life of the next century; they want to experience all the pleasures on the eve of life and, through foolishness and carelessness and some kind of voluntary dullness, deprive themselves of the bliss of the future life.
Yesterday I insulted reader Nikolai - I got angry with him for his goat-talk.
The property of love is not to spare anything for the beloved, to give him everything he needs, even in excess, not to spare even oneself; so the Lord God, Who is love (1 John 4:8, 16), spares nothing for man and abundantly gives him everything, all the blessings necessary for eternal and temporal life, did not even spare His Only Begotten Son, but gave Him to die for us, and He, that is, the Son of God, offers Himself for us, and His Flesh and Blood, His own Flesh and Blood, offers us for food and drinking. Unparalleled and endless love, immeasurable generosity! And the property of malice (what the devil’s malice is!), self-love and malice (what is the self-love and malice of man!) is to spare nothing for oneself and to spare everything pleasant and valuable for one’s neighbor, to snatch from everything that belongs to one’s neighbor and appropriate it for oneself, to give him everything in small measure, sparingly, with an unsteady, timid hand. The property of love is abundance, generosity in gifts; the property of pride and malice is poverty and stinginess. But give good measure, shaken down, pressed together and running over, into your neighbor’s bosom, for with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you [Lk. 6, 38]. Oh, blind pride!
Insolent pride! We don’t regret anything for ourselves when we want to please ourselves, we don’t value money and spend so much of it that dozens of people could be happy for several days, and we spare our neighbors an extra piece of sugar, a pie, a few kopecks; We ourselves dress ourselves in silk and velvet, but we regret giving the poor an almost worn out cheap dress, a half-worn caftan; We ourselves clothe our flesh in fine linen, but spare our neighbor even a coarse shirt; We ourselves put on ten-ruble boots, and our neighbors are barefoot, we spare even a ruble for boots; in order to amuse ourselves in the theater, we do not spare a hundred or more kopecks at once, but we spare three to five kopecks for a beggar; We ourselves feast on expensive wines and food supplies, throwing whole rubles on it, and we spare a few kopecks for food to satisfy the hunger of a beggar! Is this Christian love, commanded by the Savior who died for us? This I command you, that you love one another [Jn. 15, 17].
With both of them, show one ud by pairing 23. God Himself created and showed the oud for the sake of mating - how cunningly, and uncleanly, and basely, and with shame do we think about it? Ignorant, foolish, foolish children of the evil one!
Who stands in church for weddings? People are idle, more impious than pious, over-judgmental, not praying, who came to see a spectacle, as if to a theater. Should a crowning priest be cowardly before such people? Convict them mercilessly, boldly, look at them boldly, openly, with the eyes of a shepherd and priest of God; to crown loudly, boldly, reverently.
Those who are getting married are my children, my womb, my heart: pray for them as for your children, as for your heart. Pray in the Holy Spirit.
So eat and drink, so that later you will never regret that you ate and drank a lot; eat and drink so much that you always feel light after tea or lunch, so that your mind and heart are always clear.
Beautiful gold and silver things - but they are all cold, soulless earth and will not give life, peace and tranquility to the heart; brilliant, but they will not enlighten the hearts; durable, but not eternal, but we need spiritual peace, true life with God, we need enlightenment of the mental eyes of the heart, we need eternal, spiritual blessings. So, vanity is silver and gold, or attachment to them. Because of them, it is convenient to lose peace of mind, light in the eyes of the heart and eternal blessings, and therefore they should sometimes be considered worse than earthly dirt. Holy men of God ran from gold and silver, considering the love of God to be above all. Indeed, isn’t the Lord, who created gold and silver, infinitely more beautiful and more valuable than gold and silver, the Lord, who created man in His image, who knows how to make such beautiful things from gold and silver, to give them such beautiful forms, to make such beautiful things from earth! Is not the soul the culprit of these things, after God? Shouldn’t we try to make her golden, all bright, pure, like gold, solid in virtue, like gold is solid?
After all, her business is all beautiful things, and in them she is beautiful, and not the things themselves, whose properties are rudeness and ugliness. The earth [...] invisible and uneducated 24 is ugly.
The devil intensifies to tie our hearts and bodies to the sweets of this world, in order to plunge us into fornication, in order to separate us from God and hold us in his clutches, so that love for God and neighbor can be completely eradicated, if possible, from [our] hearts, for he knows well, the accursed one, that the human soul is one and simple and cannot work for two masters: God and mammon [Matt. 6, 24]. Human! Despise mammon! Love God and your neighbor and give him every help. Remember: addiction to the sweets of the world is the spirit of the devil, addiction to the luxury of the world is the spirit of the devil, addiction to the pleasures and merriments of the world is the spirit of the devil. A Christian who knows his sinful corruption, his poverty, his inner misery, lives in contrition and tears. Blessed are the poor in spirit! Blessed are those who mourn! Blessed are the meek! Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness! Blessed are the merciful! Blessed are the pure in heart, the peacemakers, those who were persecuted for the sake of righteousness, always reviled... and so on [Matt. 5, 3–11].
A Christian avoids luxury as a spiritual poison, for it completely immerses a person in the unity of this world and leads him into oblivion about the Heavenly Fatherland and about the poverty and misery of his spirit.
Priest! Do not spare anything for your neighbor! For you, the Lord does not spare His Flesh and Blood, and in it is the true and eternal life! In comparison with it, all earthly sweets are nothing, pus! Amen.
All the more, strain your voice in prayer where it weakens, where the heart is afraid and doubts.
During prayer, do not think about anything other than God, even [about] non-blameable deeds and things, focus on God alone.
Which one of you is a father... if you, being angry... 25. Your Heavenly Father will give good things to those who ask Him. What kind of mother is there... how much more will your Heavenly Mother, the Most Holy Theotokos, give blessings to those who ask Her.
On what basis do we consider those who eat our bread and salt to be crazy and think that they eat and drink more than they should? Leave it to them: they, like you, have intelligence and experience.
On what basis do you consider your servants or associates, which they use from you, unworthy [of benefits]? Don't you receive more than enough? But someone else's piece seems larger. This is a common weakness.
People are divided into two roads: some go to God, others to His enemy; Should I be irritated with those who, out of foolishness and blindness, go to the enemy of God? – No: regret, cry and pray for them. However, just as they are cold towards God, so be cold towards them.
You yourself do not correct yourself from your passions and, however, you do not get irritated with yourself, you do not seethe with righteous indignation at your shortcomings, and when you see others touching on certain weaknesses, you become irritated, angry, embittered with them; you are condescending to yourself, but not to them: for example, you yourself are greedy for food and drink, or for money, or for some elegant things, and in this you are condescending to yourself, you forgive yourself for this, even, perhaps, you justify yourself in this, and if others are partial to secular books or to an idle, pampered, voluptuous life, you become irritated with them, you hate them, you cannot speak to them in a calm tone, at least it was necessary to reprove them with meekness and condescending love, explaining to them in a calm tone the harm that comes from secular books or from an idle, voluptuous life, harm to soul and body, and gradually raising them to the consciousness of the need and benefit of reading the Holy Gospel, the writings of the holy fathers and other books written in a pious spirit. Let everything with you be done with love, says the Apostle (1 Cor. 16:14).
If a person falls into any sin, you who are spiritual, correct him in the spirit of meekness, watching each one of you so as not to be tempted [Gal. 6, 1]. We must also remember that you cannot make everyone pious by force. Not everyone has faith (2 Thess. 3:2).
You give alms, that’s good. But how? Willingly, mercifully, with compassion for the mendicant brethren, with a meek and pleasant appearance? Is it not with annoyance and zeal? If so, then this is bad: such alms are not alms and are not worthy of the name of virtue. Tolerate one another in love, says the Apostle [Eph. 4, 2]. Or perhaps you do not give alms and despise the poor, calling everyone vagabonds, idle and parasites, while you yourself have a good or comfortable condition, or while you allow yourself excess and luxury in table, clothing, apartment decoration, and pleasures? If so, then this is bad. You are not walking out of love. Whoever has two clothes, it is said, give to the poor, and whoever has food, do the same [Lk. 3, 11]. Why are you full to your own detriment, while another does not have a piece of bread, asks you and does not receive? You are an educated person - tell me, is there any common sense here? Is there anything human? Animals and birds share mutually, but you, a person respected by reason, the ability to feel, love, do not want to share with your neighbor, do not want to show him sympathy.
What does it look like? Or do you love the theater - but do you love the church of God? Or, let’s say, you prayed well in church, with tenderness and feel peace in your soul - great; but, having come home and having found some kind of fault with someone else, do you restrain your anger, your irritability, or, if you meet an angry expression on the faces of family or strangers, do you calmly and without mutual disposition of heart, not in the least responding to passion with passion? Or if you see a beautiful face, do you look at it with a pure heart and, if an unclean thought arises, do you immediately cut it off, fearing that it will defile your soul - the image of God and cause internal desecration of your neighbor? If so, good; if not, then your piety is doubtful and close to hypocrisy, if not hypocrisy itself.
Or again: if you see the destruction of your sweets by others, when you yourself do not consume and cannot consume them for some reason, do you look at this indifferently, as an unimportant and insignificant matter not worth attention, or do you regret these sweets and mourn their consumption and seethe with irritation at consumers, who, of course, often use them. If the first is good, so it should be, for everything earthly is like grass, decay and rubbish; if the latter is bad, for you have departed in heart from the Lord and for the sake of sweets, for the sake of litter, grass, dust, you violate love for your neighbor, which there is nothing dearer, because the whole law is fulfilled in one word: love your neighbor as yourself [Matt. 19, 19; 22:39], and you lose peace with yourself and your neighbor, which is a great gift of God and which should be treasured.
Try to have peace with everyone and holiness, it is said, without which no one will see the Lord [Heb. 12, 14].
My heart, Lord, may it be alien to all sweets, earthly splendor and luxury. Let it be characteristic, attached to You alone and to your neighbor for Your sake.
God! I thank You for Your salvation, which You surprised me with during Matins through Your Holy and Divine Mysteries. I also thank You, Most Immaculate Lady, for you have had mercy on me, who cried out to You warmly, by the grace of God and have granted me tenderness with peace and boldness. But cleanse me, Most Pure One!
The spirit of love for earthly things, addiction to temporary, visible things should be despised as the spirit of Satan. Try to acquire the spirit of love for heavenly things in every possible way.
Have you learned the art of constantly going against yourself and accepting human rudeness and malice as gentle and compassionate treatment? Have you learned to despise in every possible way your flesh, yourself, that is, your old man?
The ancient sting and ancient charm of the serpent is the burning of sweets, hatred and suspicion of one’s neighbor.
The essential and all-essential Divine food and drink - the Body and Blood of Christ - is the guarantee of eternal life within me; unimportant things - ordinary food and drink - will be supplied to me without any doubt, and I have nothing to worry about. He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood will have an eternal life... whoever eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood abides in Me, and I am in him [Jn. 6, 54, 56]. If I have an eternal belly within me, then why else should I care about a perishable belly and the means to it? You must have the desire to leave this passionate body and be with Christ. We must despise the flesh and take no care of it.
It’s just that my heart, or my soul, my one belly is Christ, my one source of life is Christ. Let us remember this constantly and let us not cling to anything earthly.
God! Do not allow me to become despondent over any loss, but grant me to count everything as rubbish and to constantly rely on You alone. We violate love because of a sweet piece, as if love is as cheap as a sweet piece, or as if a sweet piece is more expensive than love, whereas in the world there is nothing more expensive than love, for love is God, and where love reigns, there God reigns. Look at every person as the image of God and consider pleasing him in essential needs as pleasing God Himself, as it is said: just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did it to Me [Matt. 25, 40]. And what constitutes the life of our heart if not mutual love? Addiction to things corrupts the heart, oppresses, oppresses, darkens, spiritually deadens it.
And how we, those of little faith, are punished by God for our lack of faith! As soon as we put our hope in someone or anything other than God, for example, in money or sweets, confusion and fear immediately appear in our souls, something that one who trusts in the Lord never experiences. Thus, the very thing shows that clinging to things is the death of the spirit.
We begrudge our neighbor insignificant things, for example, money, food, sweets, clothing, housing, and yet everything was appointed for him by God Himself - the whole earth with all its fruits, sweets, treasures - as for the image of God, as for the king of creatures; By pitying him on the things of this world, we thus value him infinitely little, we humiliate him according to the teachings of the devil, and we elevate ourselves, considering ourselves to have the right to use the generous gifts of God, but not to him. Meanwhile, the gifts of the Creator are common to everyone.
You, O priest of God, must be distinguished from others in the circle of your family and at a party by 1) eating and drinking without any greed, 2) consuming less sweets than other people, who are often greedy for sweets, 3) not sparing anything for anyone, 4) considering all sweets as rubbish or pus, 5) not being vain in the least and not bothering with your own clothes or the clothes of others, 6) not having expensive furniture and not to deal with it, but to be content with idle time, 7) to philosophize on the heavenly side always and everywhere and prudently direct the conversation to the heavenly, incorruptible, eternal Fatherland. But addiction to earthly goods kills the soul’s desire for the higher, the spiritual, the heavenly.
Savior - this means that we are constantly surrounded by the enemies of salvation, the enemies of our eternal life, and we constantly need a Savior, just as the enemies of salvation constantly fight against us - we must constantly call on Him, that just as the enemies are constantly close to us and surround us, so He is constantly close and incomparably closer to us than they are, if only we always looked towards Him with the eyes of our hearts and sincerely called on Him for help or held Him tightly when He moved into our hearts, and did not cleave to anything or anyone other than Him. God! I thank You for saving me many times over. I called on You - and I was not put to shame. February 4th, 1866
Whenever you meet any neighbor, be sure to treat him kindly, sincerely, [in a friendly manner]. This is how you will fulfill the commandment: love your neighbor as yourself [Matt. 19, 19].
When any passion sets in the heart - anger, pride, waywardness, stubbornness, or envy, or stinginess, or covetousness, or fornication and others, then you need to strengthen your actions or feelings not in relation to people or things, but in relation to them against yourself, that is, you need to crucify these passions that have arisen in yourself, and leave people alone, for the fire is in you, and you need to extinguish your fire immediately, and not intensify it.
Knowing how sweets oppose the love of God, despise them, look at them as pus, and the more that the flesh likes, the more you feel sorry for your neighbor with hatred towards him, the more [then] despise - even if it is by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let everything with you be done with love (1 Cor. 16:14), that is, reprimands, punishments, mutual visits, and conversion.
The household runs as usual every day - there is nothing to worry about. We do not worry about the air, what to breathe, about the heavenly bodies, about their flow, for the Creator and Provider rules them; let us not worry about the flow of our life: it is ruled by the Creator and Provider - Christ. I will not leave you, he says, and I will not forsake you [Heb. 13, 5].
It’s a strange, crazy thing: the more secure we are, the more we worry; The more contented we are, the more we fear poverty! What a treasure, what an idol of the heart, wealth or contentment, satiety! This means that great wealth is moderation and an average, not rich state! Then hope in God flourishes, who so wonderfully, wisely, and graciously feeds us, clothes us, supplies us with shelter and everything we need for life! Everything and everything and everything is provided by God. What do you have that you wouldn't get? (1 Cor. 4:7).
Every sin in thought, in heart, in word, in deed is the will of the devil; hatred and contempt for one’s neighbor in the heart is the will of the devil, and he nests in the heart of the hater or enters him; the heart's addiction to sweets and pity for their neighbor, for whom they were created by God, is the will of the devil. Love is the will of God, impartiality to earthly goods is the will of God. Do not commit fornication even for a minute from God, be constantly united with Him in your heart.
In the person of whom did I not persecute Christ? In the face of a doctor, in the face of a patient, in the face of a beggar, in the face of a father, in the face of a mother, in the face of a sister. And all because of money, because of carnal pleasures: he was sorry for money when money belongs to everyone and everyone, when it is a gift from God. We are all one, all brothers, all one body: whether Russians, Germans, English, Catholics.
And who keeps forcing us to offend our neighbor because of earthly things, who chains our hearts to earthly goods? He is the ancient charming devil, who destroyed the venom of our forefathers - Adam and Eve. Hence the need to remain completely indifferent to money and food and drinks, to question whether they are there or not, whether they come, whether they go, whether they are acquired or lost for nothing, apparently spent on famous people, for example, doctors or guests - although, however, we ourselves love to receive a good reward for our position, which is not very difficult, or to treat ourselves generously at the expense of others.
Simple (Church Glav.) – open, direct, pure; whole, indivisible into parts.
Tune (Church Slavic) – free, without payment; in vain, without reason.
The prayer “Most Pure God, and Creator of all creation...” from the succession of the Wedding. That is, by marriage, one has revealed one body out of two.
Uneducated (earth) - that is, formless, from church glory. “image” – appearance, image, form.
Which of you fathers, when his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? or, when he asks for a fish, will he give him a snake instead of a fish? Or, if he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? So, if you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him (Luke 11:11-13).
