Гимн 51. О том, что славные земли и гордые богатством прельщаются тенью видимого; презревшие же настоящее не обманчиво делаются причастниками Божественного Духа 352 .

Seeing me, O Lord, slandered by the faithful, Like a seducer and previously seduced, Since I say that according to Your love for mankind And through the prayers of my father I received the Holy Spirit, Have mercy and grant (me) the word, knowledge and wisdom, So that all those who oppose me will know that Your Divine Spirit speaks within me. Let me say as You spoke, let me also say as You promised (about those) Which none of them, the Savior, will be able to contradict or resist (Luke 21:5); For You are the Giver of all blessings. Although they say, O Christ, that I, Thy servant, am deceived, But I will never believe, seeing You, my God, And contemplating Your most pure and Divine face, And receiving Your Divine insights from him, And being enlightened by the Spirit in our understanding eyes. But do not allow, O God, to be deceived by everyone Now those who believe in You with destructive charm Disbelief in the fact that You still enlighten everyone, Illuminating with the rays of Your Divine Divinity. For You are great in mercy, but we are great in sins; You live in unapproachable light, but we all live in darkness; You are outside of creation, and we are in creation; Most of us feel Outside (even) and creatures, being insensitive to everything, And the unnatural essence is beyond everything; Looking, they do not look, and seeing, they do not see, And they cannot comprehend with their intelligent feeling Miracles of God, but the essence is outside the world, It is better that they are in the world, as if they were dead before death. And before death they are kept in the lowest hell. So, these are the essence, of course, about which Your Scripture speaks: Nice, rich, proud of everything And in general, imagining to be any of these, And those who cannot understand their shame. For they have gained for themselves the wisdom of this world And fame, like clothes, and empty conceit, As a dwelling, created by a deceived mind; And clothed in that, dwelling in that, They, as if at the bottom, sit in the lowest hell And they do not know either God, or the world, or all the creations of the Creator in the world. For whoever knows the Creator before he sees Him, In the mind, as reasonable, in the mind as cleverly And mentally seeing (Him) in a smart feeling? Whoever sees spiritually through the Divine Spirit, Being mysteriously illuminated and together we instruct, Have you come to some vague knowledge of the Creator? For he who is thus purified will be deemed worthy to receive The clearest knowledge, as all Scripture says. Those who (live) in passions, as I said, wear madness like clothing, And having clothed himself with conceit as with glory, They console themselves and laugh at others, And they play with the shadows in the likeness of puppies. If you [last] throw a nut and it rolls and rattles, Then they jump, grab, grin at him And they lie around with him and play together; And if anyone stretches out a rope before their feet, Then they curl up [into a ball] and, falling and stretching out Paws up, they are the cause of laughter for everyone Seeing (their) people during their fall. So they insensitively console demons With the same actions and morals. So, tell me the question, what do you think, Can such people tell others about the mysteries of God? How will they be enlightened by the light of knowledge, even if only in part? And they will inform others, or they will righteously carry out Right court with true reasoning, Being clothed in darkness as in a garment, With feeling (being) insensitive and dead in the midst of life? But oh you lovers of God. listen to the sayings True and wondrous, which are the mouth of the Lord And before they said and now they say to everyone: If you do not put aside fame, if you do not reject wealth, If you are not completely stripped of empty conceit, If you do not become the last of all in business And in my very thoughts, or better yet in my imagination, Considering ourselves to be the last of all; Then you will not acquire either sources of tears or cleansing of the flesh, Or you won't see how it's done. So, cry for yourself, repent And shed hot tears every day, To wash the intelligent eyes of the heart And see that Light shining in the world, Who, shining, cries and cries: “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12; 9:5) I was, am and will be, and I want to be visible. For this is why I came into the world bodily, The One became two and also remained one, So that those who faithfully worship Me, seen (as) God, And those who keep My commandments invisibly Enlightened and cleverly secretly learned glory My terrible Divinity and the flesh perceived (by Me), And accurately understanding the duality of natures, Undoubtedly they sang of Me then as the only God. For otherwise it is impossible to know My economy well. And My condescension, and come to fear, And worship Me as God who was in the form of a man And to Him who indescribably remained God, Two inseparable, (as) a single hypostasis, and not nature. So, I am one, perfect God and man All-perfect, whole: flesh, soul, mind and Word, The whole man and God are in two essences, Two also natures, two actions And two wills, and in one hypostasis, God and man together, I am one from the Trinity. Those who believed 353 that I thus exist and know, And through purification by diligence and repentance Those who are able to see (Me) in a pure heart And be secretly taught wisely in My economy They themselves will love Me with all their hearts, They themselves will keep all My commandments, Amazed by My immeasurable compassion; They themselves will coexist with Me and the fellows of glory My Father will be forever and ever.
