2Tim.2:1. So, you... help, even to joy, in the power of the Spirit, which he received along with fellowship grace... Jesus a Christ a. 2Tim.2:2. And what you heard from me through many witnesses, that is, what I testified in your presence, before persecutors and everywhere, - convey this to the faithful people, so that they too may affirm the true Gospel through others who will be taught by them. 2Tim.2:3. Work hard and endure suffering like a good warrior... of Christ... Jesus. 2Tim.2:4. After all, no one, in Yuya, binds himself to the life of this age, that is, he does not care about seeing his estates and possessions, but remains in submission to the one who chose him to please him. In the same way, a person must renounce everything and not be attached to anything except preaching (the Gospel) and enduring persecution in order to please his Heavenly Master alone. And a wrestler (athlete) competing in a competition cannot receive a crown if he does not fight according to the law of the competition, that is, if he wins in the fight not according to the rules of the game and not in the manner established. Likewise, those who profess the gospel teaching cannot receive the crown of victory if, having entered into the struggle with hidden sorrows, they do not gain victory and prove worthy through open persecution that arises against them (2 Tim. 2:5). 2 Timothy 2:6. And for the labor of the farmer... it is fitting to be the first to enjoy the fruits... Likewise, for the labors we carry out in this world, we will receive immortal life in another century. 2 Timothy 2:7. Understand what... I'm saying you through parables and comparisons. The Lord will give you wisdom to understand the hidden meaning of what I have presented to you through outwardly visible examples. 2 Timothy 2:8. Remember Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ has risen... from the dead, from the seed of David, as it is written about this in my gospel. Of course, either what was said about Mary and Joseph, that both were from the house of David (Luke 1:27, 3:23), or the saying: the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David (Luke 1:32). that is, the gospel, I endure tribulations and - I endure not only insults or dishonor, but also I'm like a villain, I'm in bondage they transported me from city to city and sent me in chains from country to country. But although they brought me to Rome with tied hands, they could not tie my tongue, because the word of God cannot be bound. 2 Timothy 2:10. I endure everything so that even through my bonds, having received the promise of life in Christ Jesus, have received for themselves the glory that is in Christ, that is, on the day of the glory of Christ. 2 Timothy 2:11. The word is true that is, it is true that, if we both died [with Him], we will also live [with Him]. 2 Timothy 2:12. If we tolerate then... we also reign [with Him] either during persecution or without persecution, as He Himself said: “If anyone denies Me before men,... I also... will deny him before My Father in heaven” (Matthew 10:33). 2 Timothy 2:13. If we don't believe, then by this we do not cause Him any difficulty, for He... is faithful... abides;.. renounce... Himself... cannot. 2 Timothy 2:14. Remind me of this before God, so that they do not argue with words, which lead to nothing other than to the corruption of those listening. 2 Timothy 2:15. But try to present yourself as worthy before God. so that you can boldly and confidently correct those who are in error with the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:16. And obscene and vile words all sects alien to the wisdom of Scripture, since such people, thanks their wickedness, they only multiply even more, that is, in view of their lawlessness, all the lawless people madly rush after them. 2 Timothy 2:17–18. And their speech is like a plague, - or: just as this ulcer turns out to be incurable, so they do not acquire sanity from true faith; or: just as this disease eats away and destroys bodies, so this sect perverts and crushes minds. And they have already “fallen away” from the obvious “truth”, what are the essence Contrary to the truth they have learned, and teach and assure, saying that the resurrection has already happened and it was finally completed - but not of bodies, but of souls - and with this those people whose foundations were shaky, 2 Timothy 2:19. But the solid foundation of God stands, that is, the true preaching, which was proclaimed from God through the prophets and the Apostles, stands firmly in their writings, that is, the resurrection proclaimed in it, for whoever does not preach the resurrection of the flesh, of course, does not preach on this basis. The Lord knew those who are His, so that he will help them in everything and free them also from untruth. He also gave an example in his speech. The Church, he says, located in the universe, is like 2 Timothy 2:20. a large house, where not only... there are... gold and silver vessels, who are appointed for honor and glory, but also wooden and clay - for dishonorable use. However, it is not necessary to understand this in such a way that the error of those (false teachers) is needed in the church, similar to the benefit that the use of dishonorable vessels brings in a large house. 2 Timothy 2:21. So, if anyone wishes and cleanses himself from those alien words, an honorable, sanctified and beneficial vessel for his Master, prepared not to pervert minds, but for every... deed... good prepared. 2 Timothy 2:22. And run away from youthful lusts, that is, works of righteousness - achieve the true with those whom I call upon the Lord from the bottom of my heart and do not deviate from their true faith. 2 Timothy 2:23. Stupid and ignorant competitions, which ignorant people are carried away by, avoid, for they give rise to quarrels. 2 Timothy 2:24. The servant of the Lord, with such ignoramuses, but to be quiet and modest, as his Lord taught him - not in relation to anyone alone, but – also friendly and patient with his students. He must correct his opponents not with contempt and arrogance towards them, but with meekness. We should not alienate and turn them away from us, 2 Timothy 2:25–26. May God someday... give them repentance? according to His longsuffering, so that, having learned the truth, they would repent, come to their senses and pull themselves out of the snares of Satan, which are the teachings of Satan, to whom they are held captive, that is, they are surrounded by them by the will of Satan.
