(Heb. 10, 32–38; Mark 2, 14–17) “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Mark 2:17). Through the lips of Wisdom the Lord called the foolish to Himself. He himself, wandering on earth, called upon sinners. There is no place for proud wise men or self-righteous righteous people with Him. Let mental and moral weakness rejoice! Mental and business power, go away! All-round weakness, conscious of itself, and having resorted to the Lord with faith, weak to the healer and impoverished to the one who replenishes, grows stronger both in mind and in character, while continuing, however, to recognize both its feeble-mindedness and bad character. The power of God, under this inconspicuous cover, being accomplished in weakness, creates an invisibly different personality, bright in mind and disposition, which in due time becomes apparent, sometimes still here, but always there. This is what is hidden from the wise and prudent, and is revealed only to babies! You might be interested in:
