(Eph. 2:4–10; Luke 8:26–39) The Gadarene demoniac, after being healed, cleaves to the Lord and desires to be with Him always; then, having heard His will, he goes and preaches about the benefit he has received throughout the city. The benefactor attracts, His will becomes the law for the benefactor, and the tongue cannot restrain itself from proclaiming what has been received from Him. If we did not remember all the benefits received and are receiving from the Lord, then there would be no ungrateful people among us, there would be no violators of His holy will, there would be no ones who did not love Him most of all. In baptism we are delivered from our ancestral sin and all its destruction; in repentance we are constantly washed away from the sins that constantly cling to us. By the providence of God we are protected from troubles, often invisible to ourselves, and we receive the direction of life that is most safe for us and favorable to our goals; and everything that we have is all from the Lord. That is why we should wholeheartedly belong to the Lord, do His will in everything and glorify His most holy name, and especially in life and deeds, so as not to be worse than the Gadarene demoniac, who immediately turned out to be so wise that he became a worthy example of imitation for everyone.
