(Eph. 5, 25–33; Luke 4, 1–15) The devil approaches the God-man with temptation - which of the people is free from that? He who walks according to the will of the evil one; he is not attacked, but is only directed towards greater and greater evil; as soon as someone begins to come to his senses and plans to start a new life according to the will of God, the entire satanic region immediately comes into motion: who is in a hurry to scatter the good thoughts and undertakings of the repentant. If they don’t have time to reject, they try to interfere with good repentance and confession; they don’t succeed here - they manage to sow tares among the fruits of repentance and labors in cleansing the heart; They don’t have time to suggest evil, but they try to twist the good; They are internally repelled - externally they attack, and so on until the end of life. They don’t even let you die in peace; and after death they chase the soul until it passes the airy spaces where they hover and hang out. “How can it be, it’s so bleak and scary?” For a believer, there is nothing scary here, because demons only fuss around a God-fearing person, but have no power. The sober man of prayer shoots arrows at them, and they stay far away from him, not daring to approach and fearing the defeat they have experienced. If they succeed in anything, it is because of our oversight. Let us weaken our attention or allow ourselves to be carried away by their ghosts - they are right there and will begin to disturb you more boldly. If you don’t come to your senses in time, they’ll spin you around, but when your soul comes to its senses, they’ll jump back again and spy from afar to see if it’s possible to approach again somehow. So, be sober, stay awake, pray and your enemies will not do anything to you. You might be interested in:
