(Eph. 5:33–6; Luke 4:16–22) The Lord not only came to announce a pleasant summer, but also brought it. Where is it? In the souls of believers. The earth will never be transformed into a paradise while the present order of things continues to exist; but it is and will be a field of preparation for heavenly life. Its beginnings are placed in the soul; the possibility of this is in the grace of God; Our Lord Jesus Christ brought grace - therefore, he brought a pleasant summer for souls. He who listens to the Lord and fulfills everything He commands, receives grace and through its power enjoys a pleasant summer within himself. This is faithfully accomplished in all who sincerely believe and act by faith. You cannot fill your soul with this pleasantness with thoughts; you need to act and pleasantness will infuse itself. There may be no external peace, but only internal peace, but it is integral to Christ. However, it always happens that as soon as inner peace is established, external worries have no burden and bitterness. Therefore, on this side too, summer is pleasant; only from the outside it looks like cold winter. You might be interested in:
