On the invalidity of the bans imposed by Nestorius.
If any of the clergy in any city or village was banned from the priesthood by Nestorius and his supporters for the right way of thinking, then we considered it fair for such to receive their degree back. In general, we command that clergy who think alike with the Orthodox and the Ecumenical Council should in no case and in any way submit to apostate or apostate bishops.

Εἰ δέ τινες τῶν ἐν ἑκάστῃ πόλει, ἢ χώρᾳ κληρικῶν, ὑπὸ τοῦ Νεστορίου, καὶ τῶν σὺν αὐτῷ ὄντων, τῆς ἱερωσύνης ἐκωλύθησαν διὰ τὸ ὀρθῶς φρονεῖν, ἐδικαιώσαμεν καὶ τούτους τὸν ἴδιον ἀπολαβεῖν βαθμόν. Κοινῶς δὲ τοὺς τῇ ὀρθοδόξῳ καὶ οἰκουμενικῇ συνόδῳ συμφρονοῦντας κληρικούς, κελεύομεν τοῖς ἀποστατήσασιν, ἢ ἀφισταμένοις ἐπισκόποις, μηδόλως ὑποκεῖσθαι κατὰ μηδένα τρόπον.
