On the procedure for conducting a trial initiated as a result of a complaint against a presbyter, deacon and lower clergy.
If presbyters or deacons are accused, let the bishop of the accused himself examine the case together with the lawful number of bishops from the nearby area whom the accused may request (when examining the case of a presbyter - 6, and a deacon - 3), and the same decree regarding the time limits and delays and the consideration of the persons of the accusers and the accused is observed. Let the cases of other clergy be considered and made a decision on them by one local bishop.

Ἐὰν δὲ πρεσβύτεροι, ἢ διάκονοι κατηγορηθῶσι, προσζευγνυμένου τοῦ νομίμου ἀριθμοῦ τῶν ἐκ τῆς πλησιαζούσης τοποθεσίας αἱρετικῶν ἐπισκόπων, οὓς οἱ κατηγορούμενοι αἰτήσονται, τουτέστιν, ἐπ᾽ ὀνόματι τοῦ πρεσβυτέρου ἕξ, καὶ τοῦ διακόνου τριῶν, σὺν τούτοις αὐτὸς ὁ ἴδιος τῶν κατηγορουμένων ἐπίσκοπος τὰς αἰτίας αὐτῶν ἐξετάσει, τοῦ αὐτοῦ τῶν ἡμερῶν, καὶ ὑπερθέσεων, καὶ ἐξετάσεων, καὶ προσώπων, μεταξύ τῶν κατηγορούντων καὶ κατηγορουμένων τύπου φυλαττομένου· τῶν δὲ λοιπῶν κληρικῶν τὰς αἰτίας, καὶ μόνος ὁ ἐντόπιος ἐπίσκοπος διαγνῷ καὶ περάτωσῃ.[1]
