Καὶ τοῦτο κακῶς πραττόμενον, κατὰ πολὺ δὲ χεῖρον παροράσει καὶ ἀμελείᾳ παραπεμπόμενον, τυχεῖν ἐκρίθη διορθώσεως. Εἴ τις οὖν μονῆς προϊστάμενος, τοὺς ὑπ᾿ αὐτὸν τεταγμένους μοναχοὺς ἀποδιδράσκοντας, οὐ μετὰ πολλῆς τῆς ἐπιμελείας ἀναζητείη ἢ ἐφευρίσκων οὐκ ἀναλαμβάνοιτο καὶ τῇ προσηκούσῃ καὶ καταλλήλῳ τοῦ πταίσματος ἰατρείᾳ τὸ νενοσηκὸς ἀνακτᾶσθαι καὶ ἐπιῤῥωννύειν ἀγωνίζοιτο, τοῦτον ὥρισεν ἡ ἁγία σύνοδος ἀφορισμῷ ὑποκεῖσθαι. Εἰ γὰρ ὁ ζῴων ἀλόγων τὴν προστασίαν ἐγχειριζόμενος καὶ τοῦ ποιμνίου καταμελῶν οὐκ ἀτιμώρητος καταλιμπάνεται, ὁ τῶν τοῦ Χριστοῦ θρεμμάτων τὴν ποιμαντικὴν ἀρχὴν καταπιστευθείς καὶ ῥᾳστώνῃ καὶ ῥᾳθυμίᾳ τὴν αὐτῶν σωτηρίαν ἀπεμπολῶν, πῶς οὐ δίκας τοῦ τολμήματος εἰσπραχθήσεται.
